Downloading the Update File from Our Web Page

1. You will need your VitalSigns serial number - To find it, open the VitalSigns program, click on the Help menu and choose About. Make a note of your number.
2. Close your VitalSigns program to proceed with the update! - You can't make changes to a program if it's being used at the moment. If you have a network version, check to make sure everyone is out of VitalSigns.
3. Connect to the Internet and go to the update page - http://www.ebixlife.com/vitalsigns/vs_get_update.asp
4. Enter your serial number - Use your Tab key to move from box to box. The first part of the number and the periods are already supplied, so don't type them. 
5. When you hit the NEXT button - it will take a moment for the page to refresh with download instructions. Here are some tips for following the download instructions.

   1. If asked, choose to save the file to disk rather than opening or running it.  This doesn't mean you are necessarily saving to a floppy disk, you will probably be saving to your PC, which has a hard disk.
   2. Save the file to a temporary folder or to your desktop.  The update file does not need to be located in same folder as your VitalSigns files. Note the name and location of the file you are downloading so you can identify it when it's time to run it.
   3. Double-click on the saved file to execute it. You need to know the location and the name of the file you downloaded in order to run the file.

• What if I don't have VitalSigns on my Internet-connected computer? You can download the update file to a disk if the file is 1.4 MB or smaller or if you have a zip drive. Then copy the file from the disk onto your computer where VitalSigns is loaded.
• When you open VitalSigns after a download, you may have a memo on your screen advising you of the changes. You will have to cancel or print it before using the program (You can view it again by clicking on the Help menu and choosing "What's New.") 
• You can always check your ratings by clicking on the Help menu and choosing "About"
• There is a 2 week lag in ratings, so a Feb 1st update will give you Jan 15th ratings.
